I treated myself to the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette a few weeks ago. I have thoroughly enjoyed having it! Just like the other palettes in the Naked collection, this Heat Palette comes with 12 full sized shadows. Unlike the others, this one has 1 satin, 4 shimmers and 7 mattes! That is so great because with matte shadows, you can add lots of definition to the eye. You can also seamlessly create day and evening looks with mattes. This palette has shadows that are amber-hued and is available where ever Urban Decay is sold, for $54. One thing I really like about this palette is that it compliments the mostly-shimmer Naked 3 palette that has rose-hued colors.
The packaging is very durable. I have (unfortunately) dropped this palette several times and it has stayed in tact. It is made of a durable plastic and comes with a full size mirror – perfect to see both eyes in while applying the makeup.
This is a kind of large, eye shadow palette – but that’s what happens with 12 full-sized shadows. Depending on your makeup case you can travel with it in a small bag. But to be honest, you might have to really pay attention to get other items to fit in it with the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. On the flip side, it is convenient to have a wide variety of colors and finishes with you in one palette especially if you are traveling and don’t want to lug all your shadows around.
These shadows are so blendable. They apply smooth, and are easy to build up. The palette also comes with a two-sided synthetic brush. Now, a synthetic fluffy brush is not my brush of choice, but is does work well. Another great thing about this palette is the colors are pigmented and true. Meaning, the color you see is the color you get.
This is the main reason why I love my Urban Decay shadows and why I have so many that I still use. They are very pigmented, including the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette, and you don’t need to use alot of product to get good pay off.
These shadows will last for hours – espcially all of those with a matte finish. The first few times I did test these shadows out without an eyelid primer and after a 9-hour day, my eyes still looked good. But when you pair this with your favorite primer, as I do in most settings – these colors will last all night long.
Overall Score for Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette: 4.8/5 = A
No surprise that I love this palette. $54 is steep but you do get 12 full-sized shadows. Also one thing I will mention is if your skin tone is closer to porcelain, you might use this just to create evening looks. If you are medium to deep complected, you can create day and evening looks.
