This month I am doing a 4-part series of questions I recently received regarding past clients and experiences. Today I am answering the question: Where is the most unusual place for makeup application that I have worked?
Most Unusual Place For Makeup – Where?
This is a highlight from yet another 2015 bride – Mandy. We booked her trial run to be the same day as her engagement pictures, in the spring time. If my memory is not failing me, I think we had to reschedule once due to weather. So we rescheduled for a day in April. And April in Atlanta, is just like April in most other places – it is very questionable. We agreed to do her makeup at the park where she was going to have her pictures taken so that she would have one less stop to make and she would also be able to skirt around the mileage fee. I was all for it. Less driving for me and a chance to do makeup in the natural light.
Most Unusual Place for Makeup – Why so Unusual?
The day of the trial run, it was so pretty. And that was about it. It was about 41 degrees and boy, oh, boy was it windy. She was freezing and my fingers were so cold! I had my pro chair backed up to the trunk of my car and spread my makeup out in the trunk of the car with a blanket draped over it so my makeup would not be so cold. Her fiance was there to be on “blanket patrol” and be of any assistance that either of us needed. Since it was so windy, and she was backed up against the car to shield her from the wind, she was also no longer in the natural sunlight (so artistically doing her makeup in the natural light was no longer a fun option). Nonetheless, her makeup did turn out beautiful, and her pictures did turn out lovely.
Another ironic tidbit: Mandy had a change of inspiration about 2 weeks before her wedding and decided to go with a different look for her wedding day. If you would like to see her wedding pictures, click here.
