A few months ago, while getting ready to go on my family vacation, I received an inquiry to do special occasion makeup for this lovely client. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE IT when clients use the link to schedule a phone consultation. We were unable to keep the consultation, but we were able to iron out her exact requests through a series of emails.
The Special Occasion Makeup Consultation
When Jessica reached out to me and told me she could not keep her phone consultation, we went the email route. We ended up discussing her requested look, the location of her makeup service, and the date and time she would be needing her services done. We did this with a series of emails and also by using a questionnaire form that I have created.
Special Occasion Makeup Event Day
I had trouble getting to her. Despite checking traffic, and leaving with plenty of extra time – leave it up to ATL traffic to cause me to be about 15 minutes late :-(. I had being late for clients. But she was so unbothered and relaxed. I had the pleasure of meeting her immediate family – I have to say her son is so adorable!
While I was doing her makeup she chatted about all kinds of things. We chatted about both of us enjoying bike rides, but seldom finding the time to ride; family, vacations, and – of course – makeup! It felt like we were old friends just catching up. Her only request was to have false lashes with dramatic eye shadow. Keep in mind, she was getting her makeup done for family portraits on a Saturday afternoon, so she did not get “after 5” drama – more like daytime dramatic eyes. Anyways, Jessica you were so much fun to work with. I really hope we can chat it up, and work together again.
