I have been asked about skin undertones, the importance of them, and how you can figure which one you are. Well, knowing what your skin tone, or skin undertone is is like having the secret weapon for your makeup. Follow along, and I will give you a quick guide to help you figure out which is your skin undertone.
What is My Skin Undertone?
There are 3 undertones: warm, cool and neutral. Most people fall into warm or cool, where as very few fall into neutral. So for that matter, I will focus just on warm and cool. The easiest way to find out what your skin tone is is to look at the complexion at your inner forearm – y’know the part of your arm that gets very little sun.
Warm Skin Undertones
You have warm undertones if you have golden undertones. Usually you tan easily, and you might describe your tone as olive, earthy, or golden. From the spectrum of porcelain to deep, most people in the mid-range tend to be warm.
Cool Skin Undertones
You have cool undertones if you have ruby or red undertones. You might burn quickly in the sun. You might even see blue or purple veins around your eyes. Usually people that are at the extremes of the skin range, usually closer to porcelain, or deep, tend to have cool undertones.
