So….my love affair with Urban Decay continues. In my recent video I shared with you my purchase of the Vice Lipstick set (watch it here if you missed it). It had 12 colors and I loved them. Actually I loved one especially so I bought it to see if 1. it was the same formula and 2. to have it with me in a bullet form, so it would be easy to take with me for needed touch ups. The color I bought was Amulet. It is a metallized neutral.
Urban Decay Vice lipsticks come in 100 colors, in a variety of finishes from matte to metallic. They are $17 and can be purchased where ever Urban Decay is sold. I ordered mine from Urban Decay directly, with my own hard-earned money. ;-).
Packaging: 5/5
I wish I could give this a 10 but my scale only goes up to 5. I love how the casing is silver and gold. It is interesting to look at, and also resembles a real bullet. If nothing else, Urban Decay usually knocks it out the park with the packaging, and they didn’t fail to disappoint with this product. Besides being cool to look at, it is very durable, without being weighty.
I also LOVE that the stick has the logo “UD” on it. Such an innovative touch.
Portability: 5/5
Yep, this is the typical size of a stick/tube of lipstick. It slides nicely in a small bag or jeans pocket.
Application: 5/5
The lipstick applies very smoothly, regardless of the finishes. Sometimes matte lipsticks can be a little tough to apply, but these have a creamy texture and apply nicely with a lip brush. They also apply well straight from the stick.
Pigmentation: 5/5
Another reason why I love Urban Decay is because of their pigmentation. Whether it is an eye shadow or lip product, they have tons of pigment and what you see is what you get. My lips are a different color than my skin and sometimes the color doesn’t look the same on me when I apply it. But these are always just what you expect.
Longevity: 4.5/5
The mattes, like any other matte product, definitely will last more than 9 hours. The other formulas I have noticed last at least 6-7 hours before a touch up is needed. This is what I have noticed during a typical workday. Of course that can vary if you are doing a lot of eating and drinking – but that’s the same with any product.
Overall: 4.9/5 = A
The “A” is no surprise. I love everything about this product. From the packaging, to the true color with great pigmentation to the longevity. It is a win-win, in my book. I know $17 is a little pricey, but it will last a long time since you won’t have to apply as much. I would get other colors but the 100 shades is a little overwhelming for me. 🙂 What do you think?
Here is a picture of me wearing Amulet.
LOVE this review! I love Urban Decay products as well but they’re always my splurges. I’m glad to know that the pigmentation is good because I hate when I apply lipstick that looks nothing on me like what it does in the tube! Hopefully hubby will let me splurge and buy one of these as well?
Mae, yes, these are definitely pricier items. But at least you get what you pay for. And I’m glad you like the review. When you get one, let me know which color you choose. 🙂
