The other day, I was in on of my favorite beauty stores, Sephora, and I redeemed some of my VIB points to get this Tarte Cheek Stain. I have been eyeing it for quite some time, but you know me, free is always better!!! So far, I am really loving this product. I think it’s great for the summer months, when I want to have a little cheek color without putting on a “full face.” Also, as I tan I tend to wear less makeup, so I can totally see myself using this product, with a little bronzer and gloss, while on vacation.
You can get this product on the Tarte website or wherever Tarte products are sold for $30.
This comes in a durable, plastic container, reminiscent of a lip balm.
It is very easy to travel with, especially since I have a mini, travel-sized one. It is round, y’all know I love round packaging, because then it fits in my pocket, or makeup bag nicely.
It is very easy to apply – just like a lip balm really. The sales associate said you can apply it 1) directly on your skin, 2) with a brush from the tube, 3) or can scrap some off and apply it with a brush that way. I have used it under, and on top of liquid and/or cream foundation, and I found it still applies well.
The color I received was “Flushed” explained on the website as being a sheer berry. I think since this is a “sheer” color, the pay off was not as great. I found that one or two swipes wasn’t enough, but after I did 3 or 4, I got the desired look. I also found it works best to swipe it, blend it in with my finger tips (or brush if that’s your preference) and let it dry in about 60-90 seconds. Then apply again if needed. It is a stain, so you don’t want to apply too much at first. Once it dries, it’s pretty much there until you wash it off.
This product lasts a very long time. I work a 9-hour shift at my full-time job and I was so happy when I got home, 10+ hours later, to still see that cheek glow that I had when I left the house!
Overall Grade: 4.8 = A
I would definitely recommend this product. I am considering actually purchasing this in a few other colors for my upcoming vacations.
