I get a Birchbox every month and sometimes I really LOVE what I get in that special box. In full disclosure, I pay for this with my own money. I pay $10 per month for the Birchbox and receive 5 sample-sized (sometimes full-sized) items that range from beauty, hair, makeup to body products.
Last month I got the Milk Ubame Mascara. I really liked it because the packaging was so different. And then when I opened I was so intrigued by the spoolie. So unique with the “triple ball brush” per the website. I found out you can get this from the Milk Makeup website, Sephora, or Birchbox. It retails for $24.
I love the squeeze bottle type feature. It makes me feel like you are more likely to get to use more of your product. I also like that it’s different. And I love that it’s white. It makes it so easy to find when it is with all my other makeup in my makeup drawer.
Well the plastic is somewhat flexible. It is not as rigid as typical mascara holders so traveling with it is a breeze. No complaints here.
The triple ball brush thing is interesting. I think it works really well to get all the little fine hairs that aren’t full length. But I do find it not as easy to use when trying to get those pesty little hairs at the outer corner of my eyes. I do prefer a precise point for the outer corner.
It has great pigmentation. You want dark, black mascara – well here it is. The website says it has “ubame oak charcoal and sapphire dust for added dimension and color depth.” I don’t know about all of that stuff but I do know I know a good dark mascara when I see one.
This mascara lasts all day. Most mascaras that last all day make your lashes feel hard and then it’s a little difficult to remove. This formula is not like that. It lasts all day and your lashes still feel like soft lashes. The product does dull after about 8 hours, but that’s not so bad, right? Also, I haven’t noticed any fall out after it’s been worn. (Shoot when you pay $24 you shouldn’t have any fall out).
Overall: A 4.7/5
If you want to splurge on a new mascara, check this one out. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
This is me without mascara, then with it.
