In June, I had the opportunity to go to The Makeup Show. I have been wanting to go to the event, since I became a makeup artist, in 2012. The show is usually held 4 times a year, in Orlando, Chicago, LA and, of course, NYC. For whatever reason, I have never been able to get the trip together to go.
Well this year, they did a Pop-Up Show (mini makeup show) in Atlanta! I was so excited. I made my wish list and stopped buying all makeup so I could splurge at the show. First thing I did was take a bridal makeup class with Bethany Townes. Then, I got a second The Makeup Light, and then I upgraded my kit with Cozzette Brushes and AJ Crimson pro palettes. I could go on and on about the show, I mean I met some girlfriends there and was there ALL DAY.
So of course, I had to play with these items on myself. I fell in love (no big surprise) and then decided to have some girl friends come over and play on them. I was happy to get friends that had various skin tones, skin concerns, face shapes, and style to agree to allow me to practice on their faces.
Let’s just say I love my new techniques, brushes and foundations. Here are the before and after pictures, without any filters, taken on my Sony Camera.
