This palette is really something special. It is the third installment of neutral eye shadow palettes from Urban Decay. This palette has 12, full-sized, rosy-hued neutral shadows. The palette also comes with a double ended eye shadow brush. If you are into a “bargain” the Naked palettes are great. If you got an individual eye shadow from UD it would be $18 each, with the Naked palettes you get 12 for $52. You can get the Naked palette where ever Urban Decay is sold.
This palette has 9 shimmer/satin/glitter shadows with 3 matte colors. This is a neutral palette, so you can make several day looks, as well as smokey eye and evening looks. This palette is best for people with brown and green eyes; and for those with neutral to golden undertones.
I really like the metal case that both, the Naked2 and Naked3, come in. It is very durable and has little clips that snap in place when closed. I have traveled with this for personal, as well as, in my professional kit and had no problems with it looking worn. It also comes with a full size mirror that is nifty.
I think this palette is very portable. I have a ton of makeup, so it fits just fine in my personal makeup space. It also tucks quite nicely in my portable kit. I did not give this a 5/5 because it won’t fit great in a small area for people who like to slip makeup in a small handbag.
These eye shadows apply great! This is exactly what you would expect from UD. The pictures of the swatches on my hand were done with my index finger, without any primer. The colors are smooth when applied, and since they all have a rosy hue, they blend very easily.
You definitely get what you pay for with UD, and this palette is no different. A little goes a long way. So you can use this palette to make a subtle day look or really smoke out your eyes, using Blackheart or Darkside.
These eye shadows will give you 8 plus hours of wear. If you pair them with your favorite primer, then you are looking at over 12 hours of a freshly made-up eye.
Overall Grade: 4.9/5 = A
