It can get so hot in the summer months, especially here in Atlanta. I have struggled with having pretty makeup in the summer, that can last the heat and humidity. Here I will share how you can create an easy summer makeup look with only 6 products. The best thing – it should take 5 minutes or less. 🙂
1. Easy Summer Makeup – Brows
The first thing I recommend is straigtening up your brows. The eyes are the window to the soul (some say) and the brows frame those beautiful eyes. This can be easily done with a brow powder or brown pencil. (I wouldn’t recommend a brow gel or pomade, those are a little more tedious to use and it will probably take you longer to use). Since this is an easy look, a powder or pencil is all you need. My go-to is Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Chocolate.
2. Easy Summer Makeup – Foundation
Of course a foundation can give you a polished look when you are wearing makeup. But you don’t have to have on a heavy formula to even out your tone. I prefer a sheer to medium coverage for the summer. It is very light-weight on the skin and it doesn’t promote my face to sweat, like other full coverage foundations do. Another option is to use a multi-use powder that can be setting powder or also used alone as a lighter coverage powder foundation. My favorite light-weight foundation powder is Smashbox Halo Foundation in Dark.
3. Easy Summer Makeup -Bronzer/Contour
For this step we want to add a little defination to the face. We can do that with a bronzer or a contour powder. I recommend using a powder – it will feel light on the skin and will still give you the defined, polished summertime look. Apply this under your cheek bones, around your temples and anywhere else where you want to add some warmth and definition to your face. I use Becca Cosmetics Maui Nights Bronzer on myself.
4. Easy Summer Makeup – Blush
Blush is ideal, especially for the summer. It will round out your easy summer makeup look and help you look sunkissed. You can’t go wrong with the formula of blush, since this product is applied so lightly. You can use a cream, tint, or traditional powder. I recommend ColourPop Blush in Cheerio.
5. Easy Summer Makeup – Lip
So this is the secret weapon. If you have a pop lip, you could almost skip the first 4 steps. Having an even skin tone and a bold lip really makes you look polished. If you are going to be out for a long time, then a liquid lipstick or lip stain is the way to go. You won’t be worried about re-applying it, and it will stay on while you eat and drink. I love Glamatory Lip Potion in Fira.
6. Easy Summer Makeup – Mascara/Eyeliner
I couldn’t decide with this one. Since we are going for an easy summer makeup look, you don’t need both, one will do. But if you are quick with steps 1-5, you can definitely do both and still come in under 5 minutes. There are so many good mascaras that are already on this blog. Click one of the links and then choose one you like best. But my all time favorite eyeliner is Perversion by Urban Decay.
