Many don’t know this but I have felt limited by my former website theme for the last couple of years. I tried to make improvements, but I didn’t know how to code and quite frankly, did not have the desire to learn how. I bought another theme thinking that it could solve my problems about 18 months ago, but I ran into a different host of issues. Basically I am a full time Physical Therapist, part time Makeup Artist with full time drive and heart, and neither of those impart qualities to build a desirable internet presence.
Long story short, Ginny Krauss – Brand Strategist living in Germany, and Patricia Villa – living in Singapore, came into my life. They are a dynamic duo. Ginny knew how to get to the heart of my brand and how to help me communicate with my current and future clients. Patricia knew how to make that so beautiful by way of my website, fonts, and stationary.
It all started with descriptive words, and consultations with Ginny. And I realized I wanted a chic, sophisticated, grown-up feminine, classic brand. I also knew I wanted to stay in the same lines of red and purple. Why? Well red is my favorite color and I believe purple is a great accent. Plus I have green eyes and I own tons of purple clothing.
Next I had the task going to Pinterest and finding pictures that described my new brand, with colors that resonated with me. This was such a hard task for me. But with downtime over the holidays, I was able to really purge into this task. Here is the brand board that was created from the pictures I created from my Pinterest board. And from it, at the bottom, I realized, my new brand colors were born. I was so happy!!!
The next step was recreating my logo. I loved my previous logo. I didn’t see anything wrong with it. But I understood if I was getting a new brand – a new feel, a new logo was only fitting. My request was to keep the back to back “kr.” There was some trial and error with this step. At one point I was nervous, I was wondering, did we miss the mark somehow? But the 3 of us regrouped, I reread all of our emails and more clearly described my vision. Pat went to work, and after 1 try she came up with this….I called it “Perfection.”
We were on a roll then. So then the 2 of them asked me to give them my input for my script font. I had several to choose from. I decided on the one that you see all over my site. The cool thing is that this is the discription: a woman leader who can manage with grace and eloquence and still get things done. Another great sign for my brand. After the fonts were chosen my primary logo was designed. That was given a 2 thumbs up, no doubt. Then, Pat was left to her own devises and was able to create my stationary package.
Pat then went to the lab, sort to speak, and then created my beautiful website, that you see here. She surpassed my expectations. I have to say I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, but I knew exactly what I didn’t want, and Ginny was able to help me communicate that. She was also able to help me learn what I did want and help be the buffer between Pat and myself. Ginny was also a gem with helping me put myself out there to the world to help people know that these changes were coming.
The process took several months. It was a soul-searching experience. I haven’t trusted anyone so deep, so much, with anything in my business before. And I am thrilled to death with my results. I am so happy I have met them, and I hope one day to meet them in person, in the future. I would love for them to see this big cheesy smile of mine and feel my big hug of gratitude for all that they have poured into me. As happy as I am that all that I wanted with this project has come to fruition, I am sad that it is over. I will truly miss working with these ladies so closely.
