Question: Why Should I Get My Brows Groomed Before I Get My Makeup Done?
Many clients ask me this question and I figured it was worth putting on a blog post. Here I will tell you exactly why you should get your brows groomed professionally before getting your makeup done.
Have you ever heard that expression: the eyes are the windows to the soul? Well think of it as the brows are the window frame. The brows in a sense frame your face, because they frame your brows. If your brows are not properly groomed, it can detract from your whole makeup look. Also if your brows are not properly groomed, it can take your makeup artist more time to do your makeup. In states where your artist is allowed to groom your brows, the makeup artist will groom them, usually with a razor blade. In states where the makeup artist is not allowed to groom them, the artist will have to cover them with makeup. This is a time consuming process.
When Should You Get Your Brows Groomed?
When brows are groomed sometimes the skin around the brow can get acutely irritated. This can appear as redness, puffiness, or both. You would never want to put any makeup products on skin that has open pores, wounds or irritated skin. Because of these reasons, I recommend you get your brows done 3-7 days prior to your professional makeup application. That way if your brow bone skin does get irritated, you have a couple of days for the irritation to wear off prior to the makeup being applied.
