How I Met Andrea
Andrea is a bride that was referred to my by a wedding planner I know and trust. She reached out to me several months in advance to book me for her Summer 2017 wedding. We were able to get on a phone chat to iron out her wedding makeup details and to see if I was the right artist for her. We chatted about all kinds of things, from eyebrows to work and decided we were a good fit for each other. Over the next several months we were able to communicate with questionnaires and emails.
The Wedding Makeup Trial
Andrea lives across the country from Atlanta, so we had to have detailed discussions to make sure she was comfortable to hire me, sight unseen, for her wedding party of 7. Because of her schedule, we did her trial run 4 days prior to the wedding. (I have to say, my most favorite brides have had unusual circumstances like this. See the details from Fee’s Wedding). Her signature look is a bold red lip. I was so excited about that because many brides prefer the soft pink look for the wedding day makeup. But she threw me a curve ball. Her fiance requested no eyeshadow and no red lipstick. :-O She reasoned that since that is her signature look, she is willing to give him the look he wants for the day they become husband and wife.
The Wedding Makeup
She had a suite in downtown Atlanta for her hairstylist and myself to get her and her party ready. I started with her maid of honor, and went on down the line to her mom and then her. I have to say, I had a great time hangin’ with these ladies for these last few hours she was a single women. We danced to hip hop and trap music and laughed a ton. I have to say this wedding goes down in my history books for best bride, best bridesmaids, best time for the MUA! And I also have to say. She rocked out that nude bridal look. She looked like a Solange look-alike when it was all over and done with.
